DRY NEEDLING:
a treatment approach where a thin needle is inserted into tight muscle or trigger point within a muscle. This is a cash based service offered at JumpStart.
Results:
improve pain, function, and increase range of motion.
Conditions treated include:
new or recurrent injury/pain: tendonitis, overuse, muscle strain, neck pain, shoulder impingement, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, low back pain, hip and buttock pain, neuropathy pain, IT-Band syndrome, knee pain, shin splints, and plantar fascitis to name a few.
Positive outcomes:
are generally seen within a few treatment sessions. This can vary depending upon the patient, onset and duration symptoms and particular diagnosis.
Electrotherapy with dry needling:
after the needles are inserted into the targeted area they can be connected to the electrotherapy unit and a current is run through the structure in order to elicit a localized muscle twitch response. This can help improve the effect of the treatment session.
